wp2drupal for drupal 6 and wordpress 2.3

Submitted by DenRaf on Sat, 03/08/2008 - 02:05

As mentioned a few days ago, you would be able to read my old blog posts when I finished the wp2drupal module for drupal 6 and wordpress 2.3, and that's the case from now on.

I only did the changes necessary to makes things works. It originates from Borek Bernard and was modified by teodorani.

You can find the module here: http://www.denraf.be/files/wp2drupal-6.x-1.x-dev.tar.gz.

Important !
The terms are stored in the vocabulary with id 1 !
Requires taxonomy module enabled.

The module does it jobs, meaning moving posts, comments, categories and tags, but the extra features has not been tested yet. It needs some further development to make it fool-proof, and take some hard-coded things out of it (vocabulary) .

Please report your findings, the intention is to keep maintaining this module, for supporting further releases of wordpress and drupal.

1. Starting a blog in Drupal vs. in WordPress

Submitted by Nancy GG (not verified) on Fri, 05/29/2009 - 20:17.

Is there an EASY way to set up Drupal from the beginning to have the ease of use and functionality of WordPress (i.e. with categories, archives, blogroll etc.)? (Note that I have zero experience with such technologies being a content maker not a content manager!)
WP seems so user friendly, and with me mostly into content generation right now, it seems easiest to develop most of my content there and import it into my Drupal-driven website later on.
Advice? And, if possible, detailed instructions for setting up in Drupal if that is recommended. (And does anyone know where there are simple directions for using Drupals "outline function" to actually set up the chapters of a book?) THANK YOU!

Submitted by Damien McKenna (not verified) on Sat, 09/20/2008 - 05:02.

I've just posted a patch which will make this work with D6.4. Incidentally it converted my Wordpress 2.6.2 data just fine :)

The patch also corrects some minor syntax issues that the coder module recommended.

Hello,

After moving the module into my drupal 6.2 install, I'm getting a "You are not authorized to access this page." message when I browse to the

admin/wp2drupal/settings

page. After enabling the module, I've also checked that the corresponding check box is set for the "authenticated user" under the "administer wp2drupal" section of the permissions page. Any thoughts here?

thanks

11. Getting an Odd Error.... and would love to use this module!

Submitted by Anonymous on Fri, 04/25/2008 - 08:04.

The page displays:

Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page.

when I click on the settings link.

I have used this module (with the same wordpress cfg. file) on a drupal 5 install and it worked. I am just hoping to be able to skip the upgrade from 5 to 6 process... and I have high hopes for your module.

Any ideas? (Yes, I am logged in as user 0)

Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 04/23/2008 - 21:59.

Hi denref,

I just stumbled across this and am very interested (I have an old WP 2.x blog I'm trying to port to D6.2), but when I install your module, and attempt to access http://www.example.com/admin/wp2drupal/settings, I get the error:
Fatal error: Cannot unset string offsets in /path/to/my/website/includes/form.inc on line 477

Any ideas?
